The cultural heritage of musical interpretation of Mongolian people is endless.
Likewise the air of the wide wild country in the chest of nomadic people, the
spirit of Mongolians is alive by music inspired by their nature.
Historical sources show that Chinggis khaan, Ogedei khaan and Khubilai khaan
kept large troupes of dancers and orchestras including hundreds of musicians in
their courts. The most traditional of instruments is the morin huur or horse
head fiddle. With two strings made from horsehair and a carved horse head it is
most often used to accompany singing. Soothing melodies on string instrument
with the “Horse head” sounds imitating the strains of the horse. Instrument is
one of the variety implements of Mongolian musical art, which is applied to the
World Cultural Heritage.
